  2. He started playing rugby when he was 13. However, he decided to switch to Australian football on the advice of his father, who himself had iconic status in the game.
  3. He excelled while playing for Mount Gravatt Football Club which caught the attention of the Melbourne Demons and eventually led them to pick him number 55 in the 2001 AFL Draft.
  4. He didn’t have the best starts with the Demons and, despite his huge potential, had to play defensively first in the middle half. He only managed to score a goal in his 17th game .
