Fisher Stevens is an American actor, director, producer, and writer widely known for playing the role I Am Jabituya / Ben Jahveri in Short Circuit, Chuck Fishman in Early Edition, and Eugene ‘The Plague’ Belford in Hackers.

Fisher Stevens was born on November 27, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. His mother, Sally Fisher , is a painter and AIDS activist, while his father, Norman Fisher , is a furniture executive.

He was in his late teens when he battled Hodgkin’s disease. Steven describes himself as a “thin white Jewish kid from Chicago.”

He was raised along with sister Julie Stevens in Hyde Park, Highland Park, and Evanston. His parents divorced when he was 13 years old. After his parents divorced, he moved with his mother to New York.

He made his film debut at the age of 16.

In 2009, Stevens co-produced a crime documentary The Cove for which he received an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature. In 2012, she directed the crime story film, Stand Up Boys , starring Al Pacino and Christopher Walken .
