2. In 2004 he joined the iconic AFC Ajax . He was immediately transferred to the home Ajax reserve team.
3. While signed with Ajax he was called up twice by manager Danny Blind. However, he never performed professionally with the Dutch club.
4. In August 2006 he joined Spanish club, Deportivo . His new club had the option to buy him out for $2.2 million. The club decided to sign him permanently in June 2008. He signed a five-year deal with his new club.
