Felicity Huffman is an American actress, director, producer and writer. She is best known for playing Lynette Scavo in the ABC television series Desperate Housewives for 8 seasons from 2004 to 2012, along with Eva Longoria and Marcia Cross. She received multiple Golden Globe Award nominations for the role, and won the 2005 Primetime Emmy Award for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role” in Transamerica (2005), for Felicity in 2006 for an Oscar at the Academy Awards in the category “Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role” was nominated.
She has had notable appearances in television series such as Golden Years (1991) as Terry Spann, Sports Night (1998-2000) as Dana Whitaker, Out of Order (2003) as Lorna Colm, Frasier (2003) as Julia Wilcox, American Crime (2015-2017) as characters Barb Hanlon, Leslie Graham and Jeanette Hesby, and Get Shorty (2018) as Special Agent Clara Dillard. They met at the Atlantic Theater Company in New York, where William was an acting teacher. - Her parents divorced when she was only 1 year old but both took care of her and her 7 siblings.
- Felicity spent her childhood in Snowmass, Colorado and Aspen, Colorado, USA.
- Felicity told Oprah Winfrey during an interview that her mother originally called her “Flicka” based on a film My Friend Flicka (1943) as well as a book of the same name, which later had to be changed to Felicity because it wasn’t a Christian name.
