The businessman was born in 1929 as Fayez Shalaby Sarofim in Cairo, Egypt. As mentioned before, belong to the ancient nobility of the Egyptian family and belong to the members of the ancient ancestors of Egyptian royalty. The son of an Egyptian aristocrat and an agricultural magnate, he grew up in a wealthy family. Additionally, he inherited part of his father’s fortune after his death in large feudal cotton estates across North America.
In 1946 he traveled to the United States of America and became a citizen in 1961. Sarofim worked for the cotton manufacturer Anderson, Clayton and Company in Houston after earning degrees from the University of California, Berkeley and Harvard Business School. Subsequently, he founded an investment firm in Houston, Fayez Sarofim & Company in August 1958.
