Famous musicians with hearing problems
Paul Stanley
Rock band KISS member Paul is particularly deaf. He has not been able to hear with his right ear since birth. But it was his ambition and eagerness to work with the legendary band that brought him the success he has today. According to statistics, this is a problem that occurs in one child in 10,000 births. However, this is not a problem just for newborns. Those who take hearing for granted may also face deafness. That’s why Paul suggests that everyone with earplugs take care of their ears. He also works with the House Research Institute to help everyone when it comes to hearing.
Neil Young
A musician who has recorded over 35 studio albums45 years is proof that hearing problems can be avoided. One of Canada’s finest musicians, Neil has had a career overcoming hearing difficulties (or deafness). He dealt with it while recording the studio album Welding in 1991. The tinnitus had prevented him from making and recording music for almost a year. But he was able to recover and continue his work. After that, Neil always listened to his ears and listened as much as possible. Neil is a musician inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame and is the creator of legendary tracks such as Old Man, Harvest Moon and Heart of Gold. Besides being a musician, he is also an active philanthropist and engineer.
Johnnie Ray
Arguably the first white singer in the blues genre. Ray has achieved many goals in his life without being able to hear with his right ear. He once had an accident when he was 13 and lost hearing from his right ear as a result. With the progress of ongoing medicine, Johnnie decided to test his luck in order to solve the hearing problem. But that only complicated the hearing problem and he was also completely deaf by the age of 31. Crying has been number one for almost three months. Some people will say that he was partly why numerous artists from the UK have reached iconic levels in music history. Also, let’s not forget that Elvis Presley was too influenced by Johnnie Ray.
Gabriel Urbain Faure
French artist Gabriel was a well-known composer of a time that had a major impact on the music world. His work was unconventional and can serve as one of the reasons why it was so important. Faure created music in three stages or periods.
The first was marked by many piano pieces. They didn’t show the performer’s technique.
The second was a very quiet and deep period and featured tracks like La Bonne Chanson and the Requiem .
The third period featured songs such as La Chanson d’Eve and Le jardin clos .
But when Gabriel started going deaf, he couldn’t tell the difference between high and low notes. So he retired in 1920 as he couldn’t deal with the deafness.
Ludwig van Beethoven
A fascinating pianist and composer like Ludwig, who has influenced numerous generations over the years, is last on this list. Ludwig’s amazing achievements were of great importance in the transitional period between the Classical and Romantic periods. He is the second musician on this list to deal with tinnitus at a young age. Over the years the problem grew and Beethoven was unable to listen and communicate properly. But the fascinating thing is that he continued to compose and became one of the greatest musicians of all time. Everyone probably knows the 9 legendary symphonies written between 1977 and 1824. Some of Ludwig’s greatest compositions are Missa Solemnis, Ode to Joy, Moonlight Sonata, Kreutzer and Eroica Symphony.
