Family Refunds 11 Million Naira of Unearned Salary To The Yobe State Government
A Nigerian Family in Yobe State has caught the attention of the entire Country by fulfilling the wish of their late father, Baba Aji Mamman’s, to refund 11 Million Naira of his unearned salaries to the Yobe state government.
A Nigerian Family in Yobe State has caught the attention of the entire Country by fulfilling the wish of their late father, Baba Aji Mamman’s, to refund 11 Million Naira of his unearned salaries to the Yobe state government.
According to an advertorial published by the family on DailyTrust, Baba Aji Mamman worked as a staff of the Rural Electrification Board in Damaturu, Yobe state. But because of his age, health condition, and other factors, he only went to work twice or three times a week as against the five times he was expected at work.
In the advertorial titled ‘An Appeal for Forgiveness from the General Public and Staff of Rural Electrification Board, Damaturu, Yobe State’, the family noted Baba Aji Mamman, before his death on March 28th, 2020, instructed them to calculate the salaries paid to him for the days he wasn’t at work and refund the money.
By their calculation, the unearned salaries for eleven years came to N11 million and have been paid into the Yobe state Government account
“Late Alhaji Baba-Aji Mamman died on March 28, 2020. May his soul rest in peace, main. As a staff of the board, because of age, health and other constraints, he sometimes came to the office twice or three times as against the slated five times.
“Late Baba-Aji Mamman ordered a refund of assumed unearned salaries up to eleven years to the tune of N11,000,000 (eleven million Naira) back to state government account. The family has raised the amount and paid as instructed to Access Bank account, Yobe State Government IGR account, 0765651829.
“May Allah Almighty give you all the hearts to forgive and pray for his eternal rest in Aljannafirdaus Insha Allah.
“Thank you for the cooperation accorded him while he served and may almighty Allah forgive our shortcomings and grant us Aljanna Aamin, ” the publication read.
