Falz was born on the 27th of October 1990, he was born to renowned lawyers and human rights activists Funmi and Femi Falana. He attended St. Leo’s Catholic Primary School, Ikeja, and Olashore International School for primary and secondary education. He then proceeded to the University of Reading England, where he graduated with LLB honors in Law.
Falz’s interest in music began when he was in secondary school. He formed a music group with a friend called “The School Boys” in 2009. He also released a compilation of some of his recordings as a mixtape titled Shakara: The Mixtape in 209.
In 2014, Falz released his debut studio album titled Wazup Guy, an 18-track album with guest appearances from Olamide, Show Dem Camp, Phenom, and Yemi Alade. It featured productions from the likes of Studio Magic, DJ Woske, Tin Tin, and Spellz, among others.
Aside from his musical career, Falz ventured into acting in 2015, featuring in Jenifa’s Diary as Segun. He has since then featured in numerous movies and won numerous awards in the Nolly wood Industry,
In the same year, he released the second studio album, titled Stories That Touch. In 2016, Falz collaborated with Simi to release Chemistry, a seven-track EP solely produced by Sess. They had previously collaborated on several hit singles “Jamb Question” and “Soldier”

In 2019, he released his most critically acclaimed album, Moral Instruction. The album addresses societal issues such as corrupt politicians, corruption, police brutality, prostitution, social injustice, and internet fraud.

The song earned him three major nominations at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. He was also nominated for the ” Best Street Hop Artiste of The Year” in the 2015 Headies award.
In 2016, Falz won “Best Actor in a Comedy Movie/Series” at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for his role as Segun in Funke Akindele’s TV series Jenifa’s Diary. He was also voted the winner of the “Viewer’s Choice Best New International Act” category at the 2016 BET Awards.

In 2018, Falz won “Best Supporting Actor” at the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for his role as Quam in Tope Oshin Ogun’s movie New Money, becoming the first Nigerian musician to have won the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards twice.
