Fabian Delph was envisaged as a future midfield general after he made his breakthrough in the 2008/09 season. His passing, positional play and ability to score stunning goals from long range made him an important part of his side’s attacking play. He soon secured a move to Aston Villa . However, he was unable to make much of an impact in his early seasons at the club as he struggled with a number of injuries including a cruciate ligament injury which ruled him out for 8 months. Eventually he managed to get his injuries under control and also redefined his form, leading to a move to Manchester City .
