The challenge which went viral on different social media platforms a few days back, Â often resulted in catastrophic results with many claiming it is the funniest challenge since the ice bucket challenge.
How did the crate challenge Start
There is no accurate data of who or where the challenge began but social media experts speculate that the challenge likely started when a pink-haired American woman, posted a video of herself climbing a pyramid of crates as a crowd watched. She was wearing flip-flops and eventually fell. The crates topple over, too Since then, others have tried and suffered similar fates.
Washington Post speculated that the challenge went viral on the 1st of Aug when, a Chicago resident posted videos to Facebook of two men walking on milk crates — allegedly the first videos of what would later be known as the Milk Crate Challenge. About two weeks later, the videos were shared by two people in Columbus, Ohio, and went viral after a video of people failing the challenge was posted to TikTok, where it received more than 5 million views in one day.
Since then, the Milk Crate Challenge has unfolded in communities nationwide. Videos shared to social media and viewed by millions have helped the challenge, trend over the past week across multiple platforms.

Several Doctors and Othorpedist have condemned the crate challenge with many warning the public against participating in such challenge,
AÂ report has it that a woman died after sustaining injuries while attempting the challenge in Dallas, United States, also several people have reportedly sustained a variety of injuries while trying out the crate challenge, injuries like shoulder dislocations and rotator-cuff tears, ACL and meniscus tears, broken wrists and even spinal-cord injuries.
A medical Doctor from the united states stated that injuries sustained from the crate challenge are perhaps even worse than falling from a ladder. Another noted that it is inevitable that one is going to get hurt while trying the challenge, noting that it’s almost as if the challenge were deliberately set up to see how badly a person can be injured doing it.
On August 25, 2021, TikTok made a statement that they will remove videos with the hashtag and return an error message when a user looks up the #MilkCrateChallenges, noting that the platform prohibits content that promotes or glorifies dangerous acts.
