The Cristiano Ronaldo Coca Cola bottle snub saga has generated many reactions from fans and sports colleagues over the world; the situation takes an interesting turn after Russian coach Stanislav Cherchesov decided to enjoy the fizzy drink during the post-match conference.

Russia had defeated Finland 1-0 in the Group B fixture to climb to second place behind leaders Belgium.

Cherchesov, 57, during the press conference, picked up the Coca Cola bottle placed next to his microphone, opened it and took several sips as he toasted Aleksei Miranchuk’s matchwinner.

However, the incident was contrary to what had happened during Portuguese’s media interaction.

Ronaldo, who scored two late goals in a 3-0 win against Hungary, had told the watching world to ‘Drink Water’. He removed two bottles of Coca Cola from the desk in front of him during the pre-match press conference.

The surprisijng action cost Coca Cola $4BILLION from its market share.

Ronaldo is famously known for his strict diet and avoids sugary foods, eating clean up to six times to maintain his athletics at the age of 36.
