How many times have you read the deceased person’s biography? Well, today in this article we will be talking about Eugenie Boisfontaine who was allegedly murdered in the 90s.
So gear up and get ready to uncover one of the hideous murders of an innocent young lady. Here we will talk about who she is, her husband, her family as well as her net worth at the time of her death.
WHO IS EUGENIE BOISFONTAINE? HIS Lifestyle AND HIS FAMILY
Eugénie Boisfontaine was only 34 when she was murdered. She was an innocent woman who was still a student at the time. As the case dates back decades, a lot of information about her is known to the public, except that she is a graduate of Louisiana State University.
Likewise, his date, the names of his parents and the rest of his early childhood are also not released to the media.
WHEN AND HOW DID EUGENIE BOISFONTAINE DIE?
Boisfontaine was last seen on June 13, 1997 at her residence, Baton Rouge. Investigators began to uncover clues of her. Prior to this, a regular jogger in this area discovered Eugenie’s credit cards and license near University Lake. The cards were oddly arranged in a circle.
A few days later, the search party went on for a deeper search in the lake and discovered its keys as well. It was only after months, in August 1997, that his body was found. It was terribly broken down south of East Baton Rouge, Louisiana by the Bayou Manchac. At that time, her skull was fractured and investigators assumed she had been kidnapped while going for her usual jog around the lake.
Two similar cases of murder had occurred a few years ago near Eugenie’s place of residence. Serial killer Derrick Todd Lee has been charged. So people also started to doubt Eugenie’s murder. Scientists even attempted to find the killer’s DNA by searching her dental and fingernail records with the hope that she had tried to bite or scratch the attacker.
Unfortunately, no additional DNA was detected. A TV show called ‘Killing Fields’ on the Discovery Channel opened the murder investigation 20 years later. On the reality TV show, Officer Rodie Sanchez attempted to unravel the mystery behind Boisfontaine’s disappearance. However, the case is now closed on the show as they couldn’t find anything to solve it.
WAS EUGÉNIE BOISFONTAINE MARRIED? KNOWING HER HUSBAND
Eugenie was married at the time of her death. She was married to a man named Mike Schmidt. After his death, Mike suffered immense grief; he isolated himself from people and kept to himself all the time
However, Mike, being one of the murder suspects, was asked to provide a DNA sample, but he refused to provide it to investigators. His refusal forced the investigation team to obtain the samples without his knowledge and consent. Therefore, they managed to do so by retrieving the DA from the handle of his car.
The test came back negative. Later, after finding out, Mike threatened to sue the team for forcibly obtaining his DNA without his consent. Later, the case was resolved when Mike was stripped of his privacy.
EUGENIE BOISFONTAINE’S NET WORTH BEFORE DEATH
As Eugenie was still a student at the time of her murder, she must not have started her career at the time. Likewise, it was also hinted that she came from a middle-class family, which explains why she was not “wealthy” at the time of her death.
However, neither her career (if she had any) nor her net worth or salary are known to anyone in public.
