American actress/model Essence Atkins, famous for her regular role in the first African-American prime time drama “Under one roof”. The 1986 Cosby Show was the starter for her where she played the lead role where actress Lisa Bonet appeared as ‘Denise Huxtable Kendall’.

Born to her parents – Geoffrey Atkins and Sandy Nelson on February 7, 1972, in Brooklyn, New York, USA Essence Atkins spent her early days in her hometown of Brooklyn. She did not reveal having any siblings. But there were rumors in the late 90s that she was related to the Mowry siblings. However, no evidence was found for this, it became a false alarm and left in a corner.
