Errol Barnett was born on April 3, 1983 in Milton Keynes, England to mother Pamela and father Michael Christie. Errol spent most of his childhood with his older brother, Danny Christie. Errol’s mother later remarried to Gary Barnett, who was a sergeant in the United States Air Force who served in the Gulf War. Errol later moved with his family to the city of Phoenix in Arizona.

Barnett attended Garden Lakes Elementary School and later, after moving to Arizona, went on to Westview High School. He later joined the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). While at UCLA, Errol was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity and also worked as a correspondent and host for the movie-focused cable network channel Reelz Channel. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in international relations in 2008. Errol was very interested in journalism and before long was hired by Channel One News and moved to Los Angeles.

When he was 18 years old, in 2001, Errol started working for Channel One News as an anchor/reporter. He became the channel’s youngest presenter. Barnett continued to work very well and added a lot of coverage to his bag. He went on to cover Barack Obama’s keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, as well as the attacks of September 11, 2001. Later in 2006, Errol left Channel One News after being accepted to UCLA to finish his studies in undergraduate. Fortunately, after graduating in July 2008, CNN International hired him as an anchor and correspondent. During his early years, Errol continued to report on the rise in power of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter and also anchored ‘World Report’ and ‘iReport for CNN’.

While working at CNN’s Johannesburg, South Africa bureau, Errol went on to cover the death of President Nelson Mandela, the Oscar Pistorius murder trial, and also the 50th anniversary of the founding of the African Union. While in Atlanta, Georgia, for CNN, Barnett covered the Ferguson, Missouri protests, the death of Robin Williams and the search for MH370 most recently.

Errol is currently in a relationship with Nyasha Zimucha. Nyasha is an African television personality, singer, dancer, and professional model. She was born in South Africa and raised in the United States. Nyasha is known for having participated in Miss Africa 2008 and for her work on The A-List: New York, Little Miss Perfect and Fashion New Line. There are rumors that Errol is engaged to his girlfriend Nyasha, which kills the other rumor that he is gay. Errol has no children to date.
