He appeared in numerous titles as a supporting role. Ernie Lively, father of Blake Lively, passed away on June 3, 2020, at age 74, of heart disease “surrounded by his wife and all of his children.”

Born on January 29, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland, Ernest Wilson Brown – his real name – served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, when he achieved the rank of captain. Back in civilian life, he tried his luck as an actor, making his screen debut in 1975, in a chapter of the series The Waltons . Other popular cathodic productions of the time followed, such as Fama and Falcon Crest . 

In 1979, Ernie Lively married talent manager Elaine Lively (née McAlpin). They are the parents of Blake and Eric Lively, both actors. He adopted Elaine’s children from his previous marriage: Lori, Robyn, and Jason Lively. 

In the cinema he began with a role alongside Michael Douglas , in Now it’s my turn . Titles such as Passenger 57 or Partners and hounds followed . Ernie Lively appeared on the big screen as the parent of the character of his own daughter, Blake Lively , in One For All and One For All 2 .

In 2003, Ernie Lively had suffered a heart attack, and since then only half of his heart has functioned normally. He underwent a revolutionary gene therapy to repair damaged muscles and arteries.
