Erin Moran was an American actress who rose to fame for her role as Joanie Cunningham in the American sitcom ‘Happy Days’ and spin-off ‘Joanie Loves Chachi’. For the sitcom, she portrayed Richie Cunningham’s sister and was the freckled face troublemaker in disguise.

Erin Marie Moran was born on October 18, 1960 in Burbank, California. She grew up alongside 5 other siblings and was the second youngest child. Moran was born to parents Sharon Moran and Edward Moran who worked as a financial manager for a company.
Erin came to the world of Hollywood at a very young age. After signing a deal with an agency, she landed a role in the 1966 television series, ‘Darachi’. The show aired for the next three years, which helped Erin’s popularity reach a new level. Shortly after, Erin landed the role of Joanie Cunningham on Happy Days. She was only 13 when she was cast in the sitcom. Erin soon began appearing in films like The Love Boat, She Wrote, and Galaxy of Terror.

Looking back at her love life, Erin was first married to Rocky Ferguson in 1987. However, as things didn’t work out, the couple had to separate in 1993. In the same year, Moran got married to Steven Fleischmann and the two moved to the California Mountains. After Happy Days was canceled, Moran was at an all-time low. She began to suffer from depression and was not getting as many roles.
According to interviews with close friends and family members, Moran began abusing drugs and alcohol after the shows were taken off the air. The beautiful story of Erin Moran unfortunately ended when she died on April 22, 2017, at the age of 56. Reports suggest his death was due to a complication of throat cancer.
