COMEDY ERIK GRIFFIN
Griffin’s mother enrolled him in a stand-up comedy class at UCLA Extension when he expressed interest in becoming an actor. The course was taught by the late Sandi C. Shore, daughter of The Comedy Store founders Sammy Shore and Mitzi Shore, and upon completion allowed students to perform in a showcase at The Comedy Store.
After completing the course in his twenties, he did several open mics before quitting, citing lack of mentorship, his arrogance and general bad experience as his reasons for leaving. Griffin relaunched his stand-up career in 2003. Prior to that, he worked at a school basketball coaching and office job.
