American actor and singer Eric Martsolf is known for his role as Ethan Winthrop on the NBC soap opera. Passions which he worked on from 2002 to 2008. He is a son of Rick Martsolf, a legal counsel, and Nancy Martsolf, an instructor. He grew up with his brothers, Justin Martsolf in Harrisburg.

Martsolf attended Central Dauphin High School, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, graduating in 1989. He earned a BA in Political Science from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 1993.

While attending his college level, he also performed in rock bands, operas, choirs, and musicals. In addition, he also worked part-time as a radio host.
