Emmett Couling Skilton, popularly known as Emmett Skilton, is a New Zealand actor, director and producer born September 23, 1987. Skilton began his professional career in 2005 with a role in the comedy television series Seven Periods starring M Gormsby as Willem Van der Muren.

Skilton’s work includes lead character Axl Johnson , in the comedy-drama, The Almighty Johnsons , with his most recent on-camera roles as real-life characters Victor Lownes in American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner and Sam Giancana Story. in the American series The Creation of the Mob : Chicago , and Victor Lownes in American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story . His most recent behind-the-scenes role is co-creating, directing and producing comedy web series. Love Auckward .

While in college, Skilton starred in the feature film Home at Christmas . In late 2009, he graduated with a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Acting) and began starring as Axl Johnson in The Almighty Johnsons , filmed in Auckland, New Zealand.

Skilton has since worked on numerous screen projects for New Zealand and the United States, including The Brokenwood Mysteries , American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story , and James Patterson ‘s Murder Is Forever , as well than the Chinese/New Zealand co-production Into The Rainbow .

When not filming, Skilton has starred in many successful theater seasons, Tribus Nina Raines , an imagined show Paper Sky (which toured nationally), Ian Meadows Between Two Waves centered on the climate change and Marie Jones ‘Stones in his Pockets.

Skilton recently moved behind the camera to produce and direct the comedy web series Amour Auckward which focuses on a heartbroken young girl in Auckland, New Zealand, on her quest to find the love of her not-so-helpful best friends. . The series has now completed its third series with funding from Television New Zealand and NZ On Air.

The Almighty Johnsons is a New Zealand fantasy comedy/drama television series, created by James Griffin and Rachel Lang | and was produced by South Pacific Pictures and aired from February 7, 2011 to September 23, 2013.

Funding for the first round was approved by NZ On Air in December 2009,a second series was approved in June 2011and a third series was approved on October 15, 2012.
