Elvira quintilla
The actress Elvira Quintillá died at the age of 85 in Madrid on December 27, 2013. A prolific theater actress, she will be remembered in the cinema above all for her role as Eloisa, the teacher in “Welcome Mr. Marshall”.
Born in Barcelona on September 19, 1928, Elvira Quintillá Ramos made her theater debut at the age of 13. She worked with various companies. In 1947 she married José María Rodero , one of the greats of the Spanish scene.
His first film was Fin de curso, from 1943, directed by Ignacio F. Iquino . Her most prominent role was Miss Eloísa, in Bienvenido Mr. Marshall , by Luis García Berlanga , although she also appeared in titles such as Esa pareja feliz (1951) by Berlanga and Juan Antonio Bardem ; Placido (1961), by Berlanga; Grandfather has a plan (1972), by Pedro Lazaga and La Colmena (1982), by Mario Camus .
Elvira Quintillá never left the theater. She also succeeded on television with titles like Third Left and School for Husbands . She won the award for best secondary actress from the Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos (CEC) twice, in 1954 for Permanent Court and in 1956 for El guardián del paraíso .
