elsie fisher
He is young, very young. But Elsie Fisher’s career can go far. It’s not every day that a teenager is nominated for the Golden Globes. So watch out for this Californian blonde.
Little by little Elsie Fisher is making herself known on the big screen, although it is still too early to tell if she will become a star over the years. For now, with her last appearance in the cinema, she has achieved something very difficult at the age of 15: being nominated for the Golden Globe for best actress. She has deservedly achieved this thanks to her composition of Kayla Day in Eighth Grade , where she plays an introverted teenager who goes through a crisis in the last days of school before making the leap to secondary education.
Born in Riverside, California, on April 3, 2003, it is logical that at her age Elsie does not have a large filmography so far, but that does not mean that she has worked since she was very young. She made her debut at the age of six in an episode of Medium and the following year she was chosen to give voice to one of the most charming children’s characters in animated films of recent times. I mean the hilarious Agnes de Gru. My favorite villain . She knew how to transfer her words and gossip phenomenally to the screen, so that Agnes was unforgettable. He reprized with her in the second part of her, Gru. Despicable Me 2 . In those films she shared work with Steve Carell and since then the young woman considers him her favorite actor.
She was good at voicing cartoons, so Esie Ficher followed similar paths in the Russian series Masha and the Bear , where she played the lead in its English version in a total of twenty-six episodes. She also around that time she worked on various commercials. In 2010, she was cast in the live-action comedy-drama Dirty Girl , starring Juno Temple . And she landed a much bigger role in Vertical (2013), a Stephen Savage family drama about a woman who is reunited with her past over the death of her mother. The same year she participated in Bad Conduct, a not too interesting thriller but where the actress already had a major role.
Before giving the bell with Eighth Grade , the young Elsie joined the cast of some films without much of a journey, although they included some well-known actors in them. This is the case of the thriller Foul Play in Las Vegas , the horror film The Ax Murders of Villisca or the family film Scales: Mermaids are Real . The exception in this period was McFarland, USA , a stupendous and comforting movie inspired by true events where the actress had an important role as the daughter of the protagonist, played by Kevin Costner . And in the distance Elsie Fisher has a more than interesting project, the musical The Shaggs .
