The couple headed to Europe for a short vacation in October 1992 and on one trip, Brandon proposed to Hutton. Everything was going so perfectly in her life until Brandon’s tragic death.
On the set of the gothic comic book film The Crown Brandon unfortunately died when a dummy bullet accidentally struck his abdomen and lodged in his spine on March 31, 1993 in Wilmington, North Carolina. He left the world just 12 hours after being shot at the age of 28.
After his tragic death, Eliza spent most of her time on film sets calling for stricter gun regulations so the same tragedy wouldn’t happen to anyone else. The film was later dedicated to Brandon and his wife Hutton.
