Elissar Zakaria Khoury or Elissa Khoury  (Arabic:  خوري  إليسا ‎), known as Elissa  is a Lebanese singer. Born on October 27, 1972  ( age: 50 ) from the union of a Lebanese father and a Syrian mother, Elissa was raised in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon.

Her first contact with the public was at the age of 16 when she was doing theatre. This experience made him want to turn to singing. She has sold more than 30 million albums to date. In 2005, 2006 and 2010, she received the award for best singer in the Middle East at the  World Music Awards .

  • Around 1992, Elissa Khoury participated in the show  Studio El Fan  where she won a silver medal.  Following that, she performed concerts until 1998-9 when she released her very first album  “Baddi Doub”  which sold 150,000 copies; colossal success. Thanks to her duet with the famous French flamenco artist Gerard Ferrer, she was invited to participate in the International Music Festival in 2000 in Cannes.
