He is the son of Olivia Williams Manning (mother) and Archie Manning (father). He grew up with his two brothers Peyton Manning and Cooper Manning in their hometown, Louisiana.
Eli went on to study at the Isidore Newman School. At that time, he was interested in basketball and soccer. He also joined his high school Greenies team and had the opportunity to hone his skills by playing many local tournaments. He then attended Ole Miss (University of Mississippi) and completed his graduation.
Gained fame after joining the New York Giants
Later, Eli Manning switched his efforts towards football during his college days. He also won several awards for his wonderful performance such as Conerly Torphy (2001), Independence Bowl MVP (2002), Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award (2003) and Sporting News Radio Socrates Award (2004).
In 2004, the player signed a six-year contract with the New York Giants for $45 million. He made his team debut at quarterback playing against the Philadelphia Eagles . In 2004, Manning helped his team win against the Dallas Cowboys with 144 touchdown yards.
