Veteran Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has taken to social media to drag Charly Boy, the Nigerian Singer and activist over the role he played during his clash with 50 Cent in 2004.
The popular American Rapper 50 cent had visited Nigeria in 2004 alongside his crew for a four-city concert tagged ‘Star Mega Jams’. The rapper was however unable to perform for the events due to the heated disagreement with Eedris Abdulkareem. The rapper was not only stopped from performing but was also forced out of the country.
The recent drama concerning the 2004 clash began after Charly Boy described Eedris Abdulkareem as an “ungrateful son,” claiming that he played a pivotal role at the time as the president of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN).
“The people wey know dis story go tell you say, after I show 50 Cent’s people craze, I made dem leave Nigeria dat day back to the states, forgetting the rest of their Nigerian tour,” he had said.
“For beating my ungrateful son Edris I drove dem back to America. Nigerian Breweries head scatter, dem come arrange package the IG of police, I was locked up in police cell for almost 1 month. Sometimes in Life, the people dat you fight for fight you back out of their ignorance.”
Responding to Charly boy’s claim, Edris Abdulkareem called out the veteran singer in a series of posts accusing him of trying “to take the glory that belongs to him.”
He stated how 50 Cent and his team disgraced him while aboard a plane, he called Charly Boy to weigh into the matter but the activist ended up disappointing him.
The 47-year-old also alleged that the Charly Boy “sold him out” and collected the sum of N70 million to blackmail him.
“Shut up, you collected 70million from Nigerian breweries to blackmail me, you also collected the evidence of the attack by 50 Cent and Gunit from DJ Tee who recorded everything that happened in the plane on that faithful day,” he wrote.
He also narrated how Psquare, the now-defunct KC Presh, and other artists were chased and harassed out of a show by the organisers. He further described Charly Boy as “a betrayal and a fake activist” who is all about money and not leadership.
