Ed Orgeron is an American football coach and former career college football player. He previously played college football as a defensive lineman at LSU and Northwestern State University. After that, he began his career as a trainer known for his loud, gravelly, Cajun-accented voice.

He was born on July 27, 1961 as Edward James Orgeron Jr. in Larose, Louisiana, United States of America. The trainer was born as the son of Edward Ba Ba Orgeron Sr. and Cornelia Orgeron. Additionally, he grew up with his brother Steve grew up in Larose, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. He holds American citizenship and is of Cajun ethnicity.Regarding his education, he attended South Lafourche High School in Galliano, Louisiana. After playing on the school’s Class 4A state championship team in 1977, he signed to play football at Louisiana State University. But he left the program and transferred to Northwestern State University, Louisiana, in his sophomore year and graduated from there in 1984 as a graduate assistant.

After graduation, he coached at McNeese State in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and for two years as an assistant strength coach at the University of Arkansas. In 1988, he began serving as a defensive line coach for four. In 1998, University of Southern California offensive guru Paul Hackett hired him to coach the Trojans defensive line.

As a defensive line coach, he worked with the New Orleans Saints and Tennessee in 2008-09. He returned to USC again in 2010 where he was ranked Orgeron as one of the highest paid assistant coaches in the Pac-12 conference with an annual salary of $650,000. In January 2015, 2015, he worked as a defensive line coach at Louisiana State University (LSU) until 2016.
