DSS Takes Over SERAP Office in Abuja, SERAP Calls It ‘Unlawful’
DSS takes over SERAP office in Abuja, calling it an “unlawful occupation.” SERAP urges President Tinubu to intervene and address the situation.
Officers from the Department of State Services (DSS) have taken control of the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).
SERAP has described the action as an “unlawful occupation.”
In a statement released on Monday via SERAP’s X handle, the organization reported that the DSS officers are demanding to meet with the organization’s directors.
SERAP has called for President Bola Tinubu to intervene, condemning the DSS takeover as an infringement on their rights.
“President Tinubu must immediately direct the SSS to end the harassment, intimidation, and attack on the rights of Nigerians,” SERAP urged.
This development comes less than 24 hours after SERAP called on President Tinubu to use his leadership to instruct the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) to reverse what they consider an illegal and unconstitutional hike in the pump price of petrol.
