Kanunta Kanu, brother to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has alleged that the Department of State Services (DSS) is detaining the activist in a torture chamber, despite a court ordering his release earlier this week.
Kanunata made the revelation on Twitter while reacting to a ruling from the Federal High Court in Umuahia which insisted that Kanu be returned to Kenya. Recall that the court ruled that Kanu’s extraordinary rendition was against his fundamental rights and ordered that the agitator be returned to the country he was in before his arrest and his rendition last year.

Lamenting on the situation via Twitter, Kanunta wrote, “Some people are having the notion that #MaziNnamdiKanu has been released from detention the answer is NO, he is still in DSS “torture chamber.
“When will @NGRPresident and @GovNigeria obey the court orders? @StateDept @FCDOGovUK @CanadianPM @EU_Commission @UN @UKParliament.”
It is imperative to note that the Federal government has revealed the reason why it refused to obey the ruling of the Court of Appeal ordering it to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, from detention. The Federal Government maintained that Kanu posed a flight risk. According to the Federal Government, the IPOB leader would escape from the country as soon as he is released from detention.
