Malam Muhammad Adewoyin, the Chief Imam of Ar-Razzaq Mosque in Ilorin, has advised Muslims against borrowing money to fulfill the religious duty of sacrificing an animal during Salah. He emphasized that sacrificing an animal is a symbolic act of obedience and devotion to Allah, and it should not lead to unnecessary financial burdens.
While celebrating Salah, it is Islamically recognized to gather with loved ones, but Muslims should spend responsibly. He clarified that purchasing new clothes or engaging in extravagant spending solely for the purpose of celebrating Salah is not obligatory. Adewoyin urged Muslims in the country to practice prudence in their celebrations during this period.
