Don gordon
A prolific secondary of film and television, he stood out for his work with his great friend Steve McQueen. Don Gordon passed away on April 24, 2017 in Los Angeles at age 90.
Born on November 13, 1926, in the same Californian city, Donald Walter Guadagno volunteered for the army after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, to fight in World War II on an aircraft carrier. He began his audiovisual career as an extra in the series Twelve O’Clock High , in 1949.
During the 1950s and 1960s, he lavished himself on other television jobs, almost always as a sheriff or police officer. He had a special impact when he appeared in one of the key chapters of The Invaders , where he was a friend of the protagonist’s army, accused of murder.
He met Steve McQueen during the filming of the series that he starred in, Randall, the vigilante , where he played two different characters. She coincided with him again in Bullit , as Delgetti, partner of the leading police officer. They showed so much chemistry on screen that they would meet again in Papillon , where he was a prisoner, and The Burning Colossus , in which he played a firefighter.
Throughout the rest of his career, Don Gordon has appeared briefly in titles such as The Exorcist III and Lethal Weapon . He is survived by his wife, Denise, and a daughter, Gabrielle.
