Dogara lambasts Wike, threatens to spill ‘the truth’

- Dogara lambasted Wike and threaten to spill ‘the truth’ if he doesn’t back down
Yakubu Dogara, a former speaker of the House of Representatives, has lambasted Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, for his criticism of the latter after the latter endorsed Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
RNN reported on Monday, Wike claimed that Dogara lacked integrity in endorsing Atiku after first insisting that the president of Nigeria return to the South.
Dogara, who recently supported Atiku and left the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a few other disgruntled APC members, responded via his Twitter account and denied being a traitor.
He wrote, “To my brother, Governor Nyesom Wike; if there is anything you are suffering from, I never thought amnesia would be one of them. Why would you think no one, except you, is entitled to a certain set of principles he/she cannot compromise?
“It’s such a pity if you cannot remember what our discussion and agreement were all about. Why should only your own position be respected and followed? I would never betray a friend and a brother that is why I won’t respond to your tirade on live TV.
“The details of our conversation are sealed up with me but if you feel it’s okay to throw it to the public, kindly give me written consent to divulge it so that the public can judge who is saying the truth. Thank God there was a witness!”

Meanwhile, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ogun State, Segun Sowunmi, has slammed the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for shunning debates organized by media organizations.
Sowunmi, during a live appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, said the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar doesn’t shun debates.
Noting that the former Vice President has been in the presidential race for a while, Sowunmi stated that he takes time out of his busy schedule to attend debates.
He, therefore, challenged the APC presidential candidate to attend debates organized by media firms once he returns to the country from the United Kingdom where he made an appearance at Chatham House on Monday.
“Atiku attends events in spite of the fact that he has been contesting for a while and when you ask him questions, he answers,” he said.
According to him, Tinubu and his team made the former Lagos governor’s health status an issue over undue publicity.
“Bola Tinubu and his team made his health status an issue when they chose to convert his knee surgery into a big event. The candidate began to go on public engagements, he was fidgeting and making mistakes that he should not make.
“If it is like that, they have to look at themselves in the mirror and know they caused it for themselves and not begin to stay in a foreign land and pretend as if all the other organizations within cannot question them. They need to come back home and start attending events.”
