Earl Simmons, also known as DMX, is an American rapper as well as an actor who is best known for his albums. It’s Dark and Hell is Hot (1998) and Then There Was X (1999). He is the first rapper in history to have released two number one albums in the same year and both debuted on the Billboard 200. DMX has also appeared in films such as Romeo Must Die , Belly , Exit Wounds , Last Hour and Crib 2 the Grave. . He has also published a book titled EARL.: The Autobiography of DMX.. DMX often makes headlines due to his involvement in various legal matters. After being charged with fourteen counts of tax fraud in March 2018, he was sentenced to one year in prison. Despite being very successful in both the music and acting worlds as of 2018, DMX’s net worth is a negative $10 million.
Bio of DMX
DMX was born Earl Simmons on December 18, 1970 in Mount Vernon, New York to Arnett Simmons and Joe Barker. He grew up in Yonkers, New York.
Speaking of childhood life, he was bought into the faith of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He had an abusive childhood. He was abandoned by his parents and grew up in group homes. DMX started his career in the entertainment industry since 1991. In 1998 he released his debut solo album, It’s Dark and Hell is Hot. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in the US.
Later he released his second album, Carne de mi carne, sangre de mi sangre, which was also a great success. As a result, he is the first rapper in history to have released two number one albums in the same year and both debuted on the Billboard 200.
On December 21, 1999, he released his third album. And then there was X. His Bachelor Party, what’s my name? and What These Bitches Want became wildly popular and was certified six times Platinum.

DMX’s personal life
Regarding his personal life, DMX is the father of fifteen children. He was married to Tashera Simmons in 1999 . After being in a relationship for almost eleven years, his wife Tashera Simmons announced their separation from her in July 2010. But they remain good friends. Together they have four children.
His fifteen son Exodus Simmons was born on August 16, 2016. He shares the daughter with his girlfriend, Desiree Lindstrom. The couple started dating in 2014.
DMX had numerous extramarital affairs during his marriage to Simmons. He became the father of at least two children during that time. The first was born to Monique Wayne in 2004 and the second to a different woman in late 2008.
Wayne has claimed that DMX fathered his child for years and has sued him for defamation of character and child support. He denied the child was his, which he was ultimately proven wrong by a DNA test in 2007 and had to pay $1.5 million.
Again, on July 30, 2013, DMX filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which was challenged by the Justice Department’s trustee program. However, it was later dismissed by the United States Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan.
