Diane Sawyer is a successful American television journalist, known for anchoring ABC World News and for co-anchoring ABC News’ morning news program Good Morning America and Primetime News Magazine. She was a White House aide to US President Richard Nixon. She later accompanied him into exile after his resignation and helped him to complete his memoirs. In 2002, Diane Sawyer trained regularly with her trainer, Jim Karas. Her training was broken down into 25 percent cardio and 75 percent strength training.
- Cardio – For cardio, Diane would typically take the 1. Run with her trainer 60 miles around Manhattan’s Central Park so she could run every now and then and continue jogging during a brisk phase. The idea was to maintain a heart rate of 140 and 149 beats per minute.
- Strength Training – Her strength training included working with machines, bench exercises, weights, pulleys, elastic tubing, a balance board, and a large inflated ball. Jim alternated between upper and lower body training every day. She did 10 exercises per session of 8 to 15 repetitions each and maintained a heart rate between 120 and 130.
Diane always did stretches after workouts.
As for her diet, she was advised to eat wisely by understanding the calories each food contains and the methods of preparation.

- Her father, who was a popular Republican politician, community leader, and Jefferson County Judge/Executive of Kentucky, died in a car accident in 1969, and the EP “Tom” Sawyer State Park was built in the Frey’s Hill neighborhood of Louisville in his honor.
