Deontay Wilder is one of the most famous American heavyweight boxers of his generation. His ability to deliver brutal KOs has helped him carve out his own special place in the boxing world. However, he hasn’t earned as much fame as his achievements in the boxing orders, which is attributed to his lack of orthodox boxing skills and nice personality. However, he could become a mainstream sensation with his team scrambling to arrange high-profile bouts featuring British boxers – Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

Personal trainer
Deontay Wilder isn’t a fan of old-school racing on the streets to start his training regime. In fact, he doesn’t like running on hard surfaces, believing it’s not good for his knees. Instead, he likes to run in the water. He uses a device called the Aquajogger, which allows him to run and sprint in water. Besides running, he is also working on his underwater boxing technique. As part of his training, he also swims traditional laps.
He usually trains under the tutelage of Peter Khoury . To make Wilder’s workout even more resilient, Khoury adds flotation devices to his ankles and has him wear swim gloves while he cycles through his boxing moves. Even when he’s not training for boxing, he relies on water to stay in shape. He goes kayaking near his house and loves it when the wind blows because it adds extra resistance.
He also trains at the gym. He gets on the treadmill for his cardio work. He typically does 30 reps of 30-second sprints followed by 30-second rests. He usually sets the machine to level 9. He also works on his balance with accessories like the Bosu Ball. Another routine that’s part of his gym workout is wearing a 25-pound vest and grabbing a pair of 50-pound dumbbells. He then walks up and down the gym stairs and performs the sequence for 3 minutes.
