David de Gea and others have set aside club rivalry and reached out to Alisson with a heartfelt message after Liverpool’s goalkeeper’s father found dead on Wednesday.

Jose Becker, 57, had been swimming at a dam on his property near Rencao de Inferno in southern Brazil when he went under the water and drowned.

The Cacapava do Sul Fire Department assisted in the search for Becker and his body was discovered just before midnight.

Local police have confirmed that no foul play is suspected in his death. Alisson’s father was found dead on Wednesday.

‘We are all with you,’ Manchester United’s De Gea tweeted with a picture of the two embracings one and the other.

Moreso, in response to Liverpool’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone” message, Real Madrid shot-stopper Courtois retweeted:

‘My condolences to Alisson and his family. Un abrazo grande (a big hug).’

Former England striker Gary Lineker tweeted: ‘Truly awful news that Alisson Becker’s father, Jose has lost his life by drowning. ‘Thoughts are with him and his family. RIP”

Without a doubt, Alisson has been at the heart of Liverpool’s success under Jurgen Klopp and fast became a fan favourite.

The 28-year-old has gone on to make 114 appearances for the Reds and helped the club win the 2018/19 Champions League and their first league title in 30 years last season.

He has also been capped 44 times by the Brazil national team and was named FIFA Best Men’s Goalkeeper in 2019.
