- He started playing tennis at the age of 6.
- Goffin likes to play golf.
- His role model was the legendary Swiss tennis player Roger Federer. Goffin also stated he had posters in his Swiss player’s bedroom.
- As a junior, David only competed in two junior grand slams, US Open and Wimbledon.
- Goffin’s first ATP tournament victory came at the 2011 Chennai Open in a match against Somdev Devvarman.
- During the 2012 French Open, David became the first “lucky loser” to advance to the 16th round in a Grand Slam tournament (because Gaël Monfils was eliminated from the tournament) after fellow countryman Dick Norman did so at Wimbledon in 1995.
- He won his first ATP tournament at the Austrian Open in Kitzbuhel when Goffin managed to beat Dominic Thiem in the final.
- Goffin was named 2014 Comeback Player of the Year.
