It can almost be said that he was destined to become an actor, since his parents and his four older brothers already were. Although his career is not excessively long, he has triumphed with the Scream saga , which he made known to him. David Arquette also has some brilliant title in his filmography, and he can still give a lot of himself in the cinema.
David Arquette was born in Winchester –a town with the name of a rifle in Virginia (United States)– on September 8, 1971. The son of the prolific secondary Lewis Arquette , and Brenda Denaut –whose filmography is limited to four films from the 60s , and that he left the interpretation to raise his children-, David decided that he wanted to follow in his footsteps, like his brothers: Rosanna, Patricia, Richmond and Alexis. He made his debut at the age of 19 playing one of the protagonists of the series The Outsiders , starring the same characters from the SE Hinton novel that gave rise to Rebels , by Francis Ford Coppola . In fact, Arquette played gang member Keith ‘Two-Bit’ Mathews, a character fromEmilio Estevez in the film. Later, on the small screen, the actor would appear briefly in other series such as Sensation of living or Blossom .
In cinema, David Arquette’s first important assignment was to play Benny, Luke Perry ‘s friend , in Buffy the Vampire Slayer , the film that preceded the famous television series. After playing a supporting role in Airheads , he was Timothy Hutton ‘s shy younger brother in the memorable Beautiful Girls . He next starred with Lukas Haas in the independent film Johns , a tough drama about male prostitution. But David Arquette’s best-known role has been policeman Dewey Riley, from Scream .. The character was going to die in the first installment, but in the test passes he received such good acceptance from the public that the director, Wes Craven , decided to modify the assembly, leave him alive, and count on him again for the following installments. In fact, Arquette has already signed on for Scream 4 , a project currently in development. Courteney Cox , the journalist Gale Weathers, whom David married in 1999, also had a prominent role in the saga . The two had a daughter, Coco Riley Arquette, in 2004. In addition, the actor appeared in an episode of the series that he made very popular to his wife, Friends , playing a guy who stalked Phoebe.
David Arquette showed his most dramatic range in the Holocaust drama The Gray Area . He was also the protagonist of the funny fantastic film Arac Attack , about a small town besieged by giant spiders. In recent years, the actor has gone largely unnoticed, despite the fact that he has not stopped filming titles such as Never Die Alone , The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl or Hamlet 2 .
