1. While in high school, he was a member of the marching band. His future Jane’s Addiction bandmate Stephen Perkins was also in the same band.
2. In March 1983, his mother was killed by her ex-boyfriend. Dave would visit and stay with her on the night of her death, but at the last minute he decided to stay with his father.
3. In 2015, he released the documentary Sorrow’s Son, in which he spoke about the murder of his mother and his subsequent drug addiction as he tried to overcome the trauma and pain.
