- In 2010, he launched his Catches for Children initiative, which seeks to raise funds for underprivileged inner-city children and youth.
- While playing for his high school team, Danny made history by leading his team to their first-ever championship game in Texas.
- In April 2008, he was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as a naughty free agent. He was signed by the Cowboys in August but was later re-signed via release of waivers and placed on the practice roster.
- After his contract with Cowboys expired , he was signed up by the Philadelphia Eagles to their practice squad in January 2009.
- In October 2012, he suffered a freak injury while playing the St. Louis Rams against the Arizona Cardinals when, instead of surfacing, his collarbone came up and was just millimeters from the puncture in his aorta and trachea that would have killed him.
- Because of the unusual nature of his injury, Rams’ medical team decided to seek advice from other NFL teams, but since no other player had suffered such an injury before, they couldn’t get much support. Finally they drugged him and snapped the collarbone back into place.
- In March 2013, he joined the New England Patriots and signed a 5-year deal with the franchise. His contract was valued at $28.5 million, of which $10 million was guaranteed.
