Rovira is the revelation surname on the television and film scene in recent years. It is what it has to star in the highest grossing film in the history of Spanish cinema. Thanks to “Ocho apellidos vascos”, the actor has not only achieved popularity, he has also received all kinds of accolades, awards and, most importantly, much more work.

Daniel, Dani to his friends and fans, Rovira was born in Malaga in 1980. He has a degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences from the University of Granada. There, and in order to pay for his studies, he worked as a storyteller in a tea shop. He took several improvisation courses such as “The Improvisation Match” and “Narrative Technique and Improvisation Engines” by Borja Cortés in Madrid; and “Action, Space, Time and Character in Improvisation” by Osqui Guzmán in Argentina.

At the end of his university stage, he began to try his luck in the world of comedy, dedicating himself to telling monologues in bars and cafes. He until he managed to intervene in the Paramount Comedy tour and in the popular program The Comedy Club. He worked on various comedy projects on the small screen along with other famous comedians such as Eva Hache or Goyo Jiménez. He put on his own show “Do you want to go out with me?” quite successfully in the cities of Madrid and Barcelona.

In 2013, the filming of Eight Basque surnames began , together with the consolidated Karra Elejalde , Carmen Machi and Clara Lago . Her relationship with the latter went beyond fiction when they began their courtship that same year. In the film he gave life to Rafa, a Sevillian in love with a Basque. Its premiere in March 2014 was a resounding success, becoming the best-grossing Spanish film in history. It was undoubtedly a great debut that, in addition, earned him the Goya for Best New Actor at the XXIX Edition of the Spanish Film Academy Awards, at a gala in which, in addition, he himself served as master of ceremonies.

The same year that he appeared on the big screen, Rovira was part of the main cast of the series B&B, de boca en boca , broadcast on Telecinco. It was not her first role on television, since in 2010 she had a very brief role in the series Impares .

In 2015, he starred in Ahora o Nunca , a comedy by María Ripoll , where he shared the bill with María Valverde. Both played a young couple trying to get married in England. The actor has also tried his luck in the world of animation by participating in Capture the Flag , the new film from the creators of The Adventures of Tadeo Jones .

After the great success of adapting a love story between an Andalusian and a Basque, it was to be expected that the producers did not think too much about it. And indeed they did not. The comedian and actor is pending the premiere of Eight Catalan surnames , the long-awaited second part of his film debut.
