Retaliation became the highest charting comedy album in 28 years and went platinum. He performed a fall 2006 HBO special, Vicious Circle, a direct-to-DVD special called Rough Around The Edges, and a 2009 Comedy Central special called Isolated Incident. He is known for his use of observational, often vulgar and sometimes dark comedy.
Cook has appeared in films since 1997, including Mystery Men, Waiting, Employee of the Month, Good Luck Chuck, Dan in Real Life, Mr. Brooks and My Best Friend’s Girl. He also starred in the 2013 animated family film Planes and its 2014 sequel Planes: Fire & Rescue. He was the second comedian to sell out the big arena at Madison Square Garden.

Cook began performing at comedy clubs in 1990. He was then scheduled on October 30, 1992, with a group of sketch comedians to perform at the Boston Garden as part of the station’s Rock of Boston music concert. WBCN local radio. Retaliation is the second album by American comedian Dane Cook, released on July 26, 2005 by Comedy Central Records. The CDs contain a concert given by Cook at The Comedy Connection in Boston, Massachusetts. The DVD features Dane’s appearances on Shorties Watchin’ Shorties and Crank Yankers, Comedy Central’s Denis Leary Roast, and Comedy Central’s Bar Mitzvah Bash.
The Crank Yankers call Foreign Guy English Lessons is unreleased. The album debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200, which was the most successful debut comedy album since Steve Martin’s A Wild and Crazy Guy in 1978.
