Lok was born on November 24, 1981 in Hong Kong, then emigrated to Canada at the age of 14 with his mother. While her father remained in Hong Kong and when she was 16, her parents divorced. Then he joined school in Vancouver, Canada, where his peers bullied him for his typical shy and quiet Asian child. Additionally, he attended and graduated from Douglas College in New Westminster, Canada.

He became inspired to earn money when his father went bankrupt and saw the desperation in his mother’s eyes. After that, he did several odd jobs like delivering the newspaper, washing clothes and others. However, he stood up and did well after failing in 14 of his other ventures. Later, he decided to start his individual advertising agency which helped him taste success.

Then he had participated in the opening of other successful businesses. It includes Quick Turn Marketing International, Ltd, founder of Inner Circle, Charm Junction Jewelry in Vancouver and many more. Additionally, he founded and became CEO of the certificate program called “The High Ticket Closer”. Lok is also a motivational speaker and consultant who can be seen on his YouTube channel. As an author, he has published books including ‘Creativity Sucks!’, ‘Sold’, ‘Influence’ and ‘Secrets of Canadian Top Performers’.

Talking about his personal life, he married his longtime girlfriend, Jennie Li. She is an Asian-Canadian entrepreneur as well as a chief strategist in her husband’s business. They first met at a restaurant where Jennie worked as a waiter and cashier. Later, they get in touch when Dan makes the first move and asks for her phone number. After that, they started dating and got married in 2007
