Cristina Scabbia is an Italian singer, songwriter and Twitch Streamer best known as one of the two vocalists of the Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil. She was born on June 6, 1972 in Milan, Italy as Cristina Adriana Chiara Scabbia. Scabbia wrote an advice column in the famous rock magazine Revolver, alongside musician Vinnie Paul. She is featured in a Megadeth song “À Tout le Monde (Set Me Free)”. Scabbia was also featured on ‘The Theory of Everything’, an album from Arjen Anthony Lucassen’s Ayreon project, in which she plays the role of Mother.

Scabbia is also the featured artist for the Apocalyptica song “SOS (Anything But Love)” and another version of the Alter Bridge song “Watch Over You”. His highest grade ever is allegedly an A7. Cristina performed a duet with Italian ex-Linea 77 vocalist Emiliano Audisio on the track “Beautiful Lie” to form part of the soundtrack for the 2013 Italian film Passione Sinistra.

RESISTANCE CRISTINA SCABBIA LACUNA

In 1991 Scabbia began singing professionally as a touring musician for other bands and providing backing vocals. Later that year, Scabbia met vocalist Andrea Ferro and bassist Marco Coti Zelati of Lacuna Coil at the Midnight club in Milan and began dating Marco afterwards.

At the time, the band was called Ethereal and she was asked to sing by her boyfriend and bassist at the time, Marco. Scabbia was employed to record vocals on demo tapes and invited to be a permanent member. After several changes in the composition of the group, the members were reduced to Ferro, Coti Zelati with Scabbia.

The members recorded a two-track demo in May of 1996 and were soon signed by the German branch of Century Media, eventually joining the American branch of the label. Once signed, the band changed their name to Lacuna Coil after learning that a Greek band signed to Century Media had already claimed the name Ethereal. Adding new members to the group, Lacuna Coil began, releasing their debut album in 1999.
