American rapper and entrepreneur, Andre Romelle Young professionally Known as Dr. Dre has reportedly been ordered to pay his ex-wife Nicole Young thousands of three hundred thousand dollars per month in spousal support after over a year of squabbling over a prenuptial agreement.
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, a judge ordered the rapper to pay Young nearly $300,000 per month, which adds up to roughly $3.5 million a year.
The order reportedly states, “[Dre] is ordered to pay to the [Nicole] spousal support in the sum of $293,306.00 per month, payable on the first of each month, commencing August 1, 2021,” Dre will pay a total of $3,519,672 per year until Nicole remarries or “enters into a new domestic partnership.”
Dr. Dre is reportedly also responsible for paying Nicole’s health insurance and other fees, including “the expenses for the Malibu, and Pacific Palisades homes.” The only way out for Dr. Dre according to the order is if Young “remarries or enters into a new domestic partnership, death of either party.”
The report has it that this order could be temporary as the former couple, who was married for two and a half decades, continue financial negotiations.
Dre and Nicole Young got married in May 1996, Young filed for divorce in June 2020 after 24 years of marriage, over irreconcilable differences.
Dr. Dre who had earlier requested a divorce from Nicole in March said that his split from Nicole had reached the point of no return.
The contentious split has dragged on through abuse claims, diss tracks, and allegations of mistresses and love children. This was when Nicole decided that she had enough and wanted out.
“His long-term abuse must be a factor that the court takes into account in awarding support and fees,” she added in the filing according to Entertainment Tonight.
Nicole said Dr. Dre should pay for all of her bills in the same way he did throughout their marriage.
