Cory Monteith, one of the protagonists of the series “Glee” was found dead on July 13, 2013, in a hotel in Vancouver (Canada), according to police sources. Authorities initially ruled out that the death was due to a violent act, according to statements by the acting chief of the Vancouver Police Department, Doug LePard. The actor, who was 31 years old, played Finn, a soccer player who had problems with his teammates when he joined the high school choir.

The actor’s lifeless body was found at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel, where Monteith checked in on July 6. An autopsy is expected for Monday. The interpreter had struggled against his drug addiction.

Born in Calgary, Canada, on July 13, 2013, Cory Allan Michael Monteith was a promising student, but left school early at age 16. He worked various jobs, such as supermarket cashier and taxi driver, before the Canadian director David DeCoteau selected him to star in the TV movie Killer Bash , in 2005. After small roles in the series Smallville and Supernatural , he played a student in the film Final Destination 3 .

Cory Monteith also appeared in the comedy Dimly-lit Neighbor with Danny DeVito and in the thriller The Unseen , before auditioning for Glee , which made him a celebrity. His character’s romance with singer Rachel Berry was one of the lynchpins of the musical series.
