Constantine Romero
He was an announcer, presenter, and above all one of the great Spanish dubbing actors. He lent his unmistakable voice to actors like Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Roger Moore, and to such unforgettable characters as Darth Vader. Constantino Romero died on May 12, 2013, at the age of 65, in Barcelona.
Born in Albacete, on May 29, 1947, Constantino Romero spent most of his childhood in Chinchilla de Monte-Aragón, where his paternal family came from. At the age of 9, his family moved to Barcelona. He began his professional activity as a presenter for Radio Barcelona and later for Radio Nacional. As a voice actor he built enormous prestige, becoming Clint Eastwood
‘s regular voice over the years. He has also occasionally voiced Sean Connery , in Atmosphere Zero , and characters such as Darth Vader, filling in for James Earl Jones , 007 when he was played by Roger Moore , and Captain Kirk from Star Trek .in the film series. His is the final speech of Rutger Hauer ‘s Blade Runner in Spanish: “I’ve seen things you wouldn’t believe.” In animation there have been many characters like Mufasa, in The Lion King . He was an actor above all on stage, after making his debut at the age of 36 with “L’Ópera de tres rals”, directed by Mario Gas , under whose orders he would return on various occasions later. After presenting “I know you have a boyfriend” on television, he became very popular with the contest “Time is gold” between 1987 and 1992. Five months before his death, Constantino Romero had announced his withdrawal. His last job was once again voicing Clint Eastwood .
