Connie Stevens is an American actress, director, singer, screenwriter, editor and entrepreneur. She is best known for her role as Chryseis “Cricket” Blake in the TV series Hawaiian Eye from 1959 to 1963. Her career began 2 years earlier when she landed minor roles in films such as Young and Dangerous and Eighteen and This was Acquired by a Comedian named Jerry Lewis noticed. He gave her a role in Rocking a Faraway Baby During this time she also worked on her music career and released her first album Concetta (1958) as well as 2 singles – Kookie, Kookie, lend me your comb and Sixteen Reasonsboth reached the top 5 spots on Billboard’s singles chart of 1959.

Connie also had notable appearances in the Wendy & I television series from 1964 to 1965, in a 1967 Broadway play The Star-Spangled Girl , as well as Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In (1969) television series, Love, American Art TV show in The In 1969, along with one of her most prominent television roles, Shelley Sands starred in a 1996 episode of Baywatch . She appeared in films such as Grease 2 (1982) as Miss Mason, Back to the Beach (1987) as Connie, Band Heads (1988) as the character June Tager, Love Is All There Is (1996), Mickey Stern Comes Back(2002) as Dr. Eloise Vanderwild and others. In 2009, Connie Stevens wrote, directed, and voiced in Saving Grace B. Jones, a film starring Michael Biehn, Tatum O’Neal, Scott Wilson, Piper Laurie, and Connie’s own daughter, Tricia Leigh Fisher.

  2. Connie adopted her father’s stage name, Stevens, as her own. Her father’s name was Peter Ingoglia, but he adopted the stage name Teddy Stevens for his singing career.
