In the early hours of Friday, Cristiano Ronaldo said goodbyes to his Juventus teammates and will miss training on Friday as he nears an exit from the club, SkySport reported.
More so, the 36-year-old spent an hour and a half at Juve’s Continassa training ground on Friday morning to empty his locker and bid farewell to the squad before they took to the pitch for a training session.
Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri: “Cristiano Ronaldo told me yesterday that he wants to LEAVE Juventus immediatly. It’s true and confirmed. This is why he wasn’t training today and he’s not available for tomorrow match vs Empoli”. ??? #Ronaldo #Juve pic.twitter.com/Zr3W5tWYcF

However, in reacting to the news of Ronaldo’s departure, Wayne Rooney, former Ronaldo’s team-mate said he is not expecting him to join Manchester City this transfer window and dash his Manchester United legacy, though recent reports suggest such a move is possible if not likely.
No doubt, Rooney a United legend, won three Premier League titles alongside Ronaldo in the decade preceding City’s rise to the top of English football.
And as someone who knows Ronaldo well, Rooney “can’t see” the Juventus forward joining the rival organisation.
However, Ronaldo is said to be unhappy at Juventus and interested in a switch of scenery, and City is one of the few clubs who could afford to pay his wages.
