COLTON BURPO BIOGRAPHY AND Lifestyle
Colton Burpo is the young boy who supposedly went to heaven while unconscious in hospital. When Colton was 3 years and 10 months old, he complained of stomach pains accompanied by a high fever. When his mother took him to the hospital, he was told he had the flu, which turned out to be a misdiagnosis.
After six days, his appendix burst and he was rushed to the emergency room to have an appendectomy as soon as possible. While in surgery, Burpo recounted that he left his body and traveled to heaven where he saw his unborn sister who was carried by his mother. He also saw his great-grandfather who had died 30 years before he was born and also met Jesus riding a rainbow horse and sat on Jesus’ lap while angels sang songs to him .
His revelation shocked his father Todd who at first thought his son was dead. Todd then put his son’s events into writing in the book Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy’s Stounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back. The book was written by Todd and Lynn Vincent and published in 2010, becoming one of the New York Times best-selling Christian books. After the success of the book, a film of the same name was released in April 2014.
