Cody Garbrandt trains 2-3 times a day for about 4-6 hours and only takes a break when he feels his body requires it. He trains hard the first 3 days of the week and uses the 4 th day to recover and work on maintenance and mobility. Repeat this cycle.
As for his diet, Cody maintains a clean and healthy diet. Aside from breakfast, lunch, and dinner, he eats either a smoothie or a bar between workouts to keep his energy levels up until the next meal. He drinks gallons of water to stay hydrated. His workout nutrition card includes:
- Breakfast – He starts his day with eggs, turkey bacon, some toast, and (occasionally) oatmeal and coffee with MCT oil.
- Lunch – His lunch consists of salmon, tilapia, or chicken, which is about 6 to 8 ounces of protein. He takes this with some rice, which has carbs, along with veggies like zucchini, broccoli, and asparagus.
- Evening snack – He then made a smoothie with egg whites, berries, bananas, coconut water, and spinach for greenery with some almond butter.
- Dinner – His dinner is similar to his lunch, consisting of 6 to 8 ounces of protein. He’s going for ground turkey, low carb, and more broccoli and veggies.
He also has a ritual meal (dinner) for the night before a fight consisting of salmon, spinach, yams, some sushi, and rice.
